Empower Me Center
Empower Me Center
About The Empower Me CenterWe transform the lives of individuals with special needs through activities and opportunities for growth in a safe, secure environment while providing community education on disabilities and inclusiveness.
Our Purpose
Did you know nearly one-fifth of all Americans have a physical, sensory, or intellectual disability? In Tennessee alone, the Department of Education reported 128,439 registered children ages 3-21 with disabilities (excluding private and home-schooled students).
Unfortunately for these residents, there is a statewide shortage of services available for this ever-growing population. In addition to the lack of services provided for individuals with disabilities, their caregivers also depend on respite opportunities and reliable childcare so that they are able to work to provide for their families.
At Empower Me Center, we strive to create opportunities year-round for our participants. In doing so, we also aim to be in an accepting, therapeutic space that caters to the needs of our participants (ages 5 & up) AND provide them with the same opportunities as those in their peer groups without disabilities.
We work with individuals with disabilities including but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Cancer, Epilepsy, Fragile X Syndrome, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from physical or sexual abuse, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Blindness, Deafness, Microencephaly, and Schizophrenia, Down Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis, Smith-Magenis Syndrome, and Angelman Syndrome.
Vision Statement
The Empower Me Center provides exceptional opportunities for the special needs community to live their best lives.
